Something Just For First-Years

Project 2022 is a year-long series of programs, workshops, and events specifically tailored to help first-years get connected with CareerLAB’s staff and resources.

Don't miss our first event of the semester called Getting Started with CareerLAB (couldn't be more perfect, right?) this Sunday, September 9 from 4-5 p.m. at Salomon Hall. (If you can't make it, check Handshake for other times when this program repeats.) Also, come to the big Welcome Carnival on Thursday, September 13. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Graduate Students - Meet Your CareerLAB Services Team

CareerLAB supports Brown graduate students - both master's and doctoral candidates - along every step of their graduate school careers. Our services complement the essential advice you will receive from your faculty advisors.

We also offer events just for graduate students, including an Open House on Monday, September 24 from 9-11 a.m. at CareerLAB. Please come indulge in coffee, doughnuts and lots of career advice! Also, drop by for Graduate Walk-In hours: Tuesdays 3-4 p.m., Wednesdays 4-5 p.m., and Thursdays 2-3 p.m.

This semester, we welcome two new fellows to the graduate student services team.

Meet Michiel and Sarah!

First Step: Update Your Handshake Profile

Here's our first gift to you! All Brown students automatically have access to the Handshake platform where you can search for jobs, find summer opportunities and explore funding resources. Handshake also feeds into our BrownConnect platformyour one-stop shop for internship and research opportunities, funding and alumni connections. Simply use your Brown login credentials to get into Handshake.

To make sure you are receiving the most relevant information from us, check off the industries (any and all!) that interest you under "Your Career Interests" in your profile settings. Also, you can get information about all of our upcoming workshops and programs by selecting “I want to find out about career center events." Under your Handshake settings, simply select “Career Interests,” scroll down to “How can Handshake help you?” and check that box.
