Hey everyone!

Early start for me today. I'm still in Berlin but leaving for the airport soon, heading back to Melbourne.

I've spent the majority of my time here at the printer overseeing the making of issue 13. It was especially important to check in on this issue because I'm working with a new printer (some photos of the print in process here). I'll explain why I (had to) move printers in a post on the Offscreen blog when the issue launches this Thursday. Follow Offscreen on Twitter to not miss the release. :)

I'm so glad to have another guest editor this week. I've been following Jon's work with Need/Want for a while. Him and his colleagues have created a lot of (physical) products and are extremely transparent about their process, which always inspires. Thanks Jon!

Have a great week everyone.

Kai

This Weekʼs Line-Up

A stainless steel water bottle
01

This thing looks good and it keeps whatever liquids you put inside cool for 24 hours. I'll load this thing up with water and ice and (assuming I don't drink it) the ice is still floating around inside a day later. Pretty amazing!

An inspirational newsletter
02

An email newsletter that I look forward to reading. Every morning they send you a few great instagram accounts to follow, a product, a song, and an article.

A long-lasting steel pen
03

I originally backed this pen on Kickstarter. I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The pen itself is so simple and beautiful, but the thing that really convinced me to spend $160 on a pen was the incredibly satisfying *pop* sound it makes when you pull it out.

A community for learning new skills
04

This is like Netflix for learning stuff. For $10 a month you get unlimited access to classes that cover a huge range of topics. (I love using their app.)

A keyring screwdriver
05

This is one of those 'why didn’t I think of that?' products. A screwdriver that's always with you. So simple and so useful. Put it on your keychain and you won’t regret it. The flat head screwdriver also doubles as a nice little knife for opening packages.

An app to track deliveries
06

This has quickly become one of my most-used apps on my iPhone and desktop. Simply add a tracking number for any shipping service and it will track everything in one place. It also syncs across devices which is super useful.
