Dear friends and sponsors of the ECCA project:

We are excited to announce the official inauguration date of the new ECCA School!

With the leadership of the school, we have chosen the anniversary date of the 2010 earthquake as an exciting day to officially “open” the new school:  Saturday, January 12, 2019.  This is nine years after the earthquake destroyed the existing ECCA School in the area --  which is right at the epicenter of the quake.  With the school staff, we will be preparing a special program to celebrate the event.

With this letter, we have the privilege and honor of inviting you to come and join us for this festive occasion!  Proposed travel dates are Thursday, January 10 through Monday, January 14.  We will arrange accommodation for four nights at the guesthouse next to our home, which is familiar to many of you.  Cost (apart from the flight): a discounted $250 per person for the whole time; normal cost is 100 per person per night. 

A few weeks ago, we were excited and grateful to see our fund-raising goal reached and surpassed. This allows us to do some extras, such as a chapel/meeting room and more benches for the students.  Meanwhile, the third building with three classrooms and the latrine block are finished and all ten classrooms are now in use!
