HTC Graduate LaserGen Enters New Technology Field with
U.S. Army Grant
HTC Graduate, LaserGen, a biotechnology company, received a grant from the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command to support new research efforts in next-generation sequencing technology, which will help identify microbes commonly found in combat wound infections.

HTC Client, RecycleMatch, an enterprise software company that enables corporations to maximize the economic and environmental impact of their Zero Waste initiatives, CEO & Founder, Brooke Farrell was selected as 1 of Waste & Recycling News "Rising Stars." Brooke was 1 out of 12 selected from a batch of nearly 100 nominees under the age of 45. These "Rising Stars" serve the waste & recycling industries in a variety of ways, including engineering, landfill management, entrepreneurship, communications and public service.

HTC Client, Houston Medical Robotics, Inc. Receives FDA 510(k) Clearance for EuclidTM Tier 1 Mini Access System
HTC Client, Houston Medical Robotics, Inc., announces that it has received U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance to market the Euclid™ Tier 1 Mini Access System. The Euclid™ Tier 1 Mini Access System is a portable, hand-held device that integrates commercially available ultrasound imaging systems to facilitate placement of a needle and guidewire into a targeted anatomical location for a variety of therapeutics applications.

Dick Williams, President of Shell WindEnergy, Named 
HTC's Chairman of the Board of Directors
 Richard "Dick" Williams  has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Houston Technology Center. Dick is president of Shell WindEnergy and oversees Shell's wind activities which include 10 wind farms, 8 in North America and 2 in Europe, with a total capacity of 1,000 MW and developing new projects in North America.

HATCH Pitch Competition Announces Winners

After months of planning by HTC employees and volunteers, and with the support of sponsors, the 1st Annual HATCH, a pitch competition, was a great success at SXSW in Austin, Texas. The selected 15 finalists presented their business plans to a panel of corporate, angel, and venture investor judges.

US LED Assists HTC in Implementing Green Initiative with
Exterior Lighting Donation
In an effort to implement its green initiative, HTC is pleased to recognize a generous donation from US LED as its Exterior Lighting Sponsor for its Main Campus located in Midtown. Installation of replacement LED lamps for the former incandescent lights is expected to significantly reduce electricity costs and improve lighting for the area. In addition, maintenance costs are expected to be reduced by half due to the expected longevity of the LED bulbs. HTC is committed to utilizing green technologies wherever possible in its facility.
