Campus Planning Documents Now Available
Two new planning documents are hot off the electronic presses from the Campus Planning and Architecture department -- a look at the re-development and renewal of University Hall
as part of the overall Destination Project, and a Library and Learning Commons document which outlines a proposed redevelopment of space in the Library and other locations on campus.

Two New Courses Inform Students About Liberal Education and the U of L Experience
Liberal Education 2850 Section A: Mapping Self, Career, Campus and Community
This first year experience course is designed to introduce students to the U of L community and their place in it.
It is a unique course that combines academic work with career development. There will be lectures with some of the UofL’s best instructors, along with labs and group activities outside the classroom. Learn more here.
Liberal Education 1000
This is a course that distills and concentrates the undergraduate university experience -- think of it as "University 101" -- and a provides the opportunity to develop skills students will need to do well at university.
Small group tutorials will allow students to develop and practice critical thinking and evaluation skills. Labs help students learn and practice general skills in reading, writing and information literacy that are used across all disciplines, and which will help in all university courses. Learn more here.

Annual Christmas Family Skating Party, December 9
The 19th Annual Christmas Family Skating Party for ALL University staff and their families is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 9 from 4:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Enmax Centre.
RSVP to advancement@uleth.ca by Monday, Dec. 3 if you are planning to join in the fun.
Please let us know the number of adults and children that will be attending, as Santa needs to make sure there are enough treat bags for all the children.

Name the New Community Arts Centre!
In May, 2013 Lethbridge’s new Community Arts Centre being built downtown on 3rd Ave. S. will be opening up its doors to the public – but it needs a name.
The Community Arts Centre, which includes as a major tenant the University of Lethbridge Conservatory of Music, will be an incubator for arts activities for years to come.
The public is encouraged to participate in the naming process by submitting creative names that fit the vision of this iconic civic building. Learn how to submit your name suggestion, here.

Sports Medicine Clinic and Rebound Health Centre Open House, Dec. 5
The University of Lethbridge is pleased to announce the opening of the new sports medicine clinic, which houses a medical practice and physiothererapy services.
There will be an open house showcasing the facility and associated services on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Food Fight! - Competitive food drive between Management and Health Sciences Now Underway
The Faculty of Management Social Responsibility Minor is sponsoring the Second Annual Competitive Food Bank Drive between the Faculty of Management and the Faculty of Health Sciences.

Book Sale at U of L Supports New Kainai Public Library, November 28 and 29
A group from the community is actively looking for book donations to the Kainai Public Library, which would be Alberta's first public Library established in a First Nations community. They are holdng a book sale on Nov. 28 (drop-off) and Nov. 29 (sale day!).
The Kainai Library would be linked to other libraries in the region through the Chinook Arch Regional Library System. Learn more here.

Red Nose Gets Rolling, November 30
The popular Operation Red Nose designated driver program begins its 18th season on Nov. 30.
Over the years, hundreds of community partners, thousands of rides and thousands of volunteer hours have added up to significant support for Pronghorn Athletics.

Relay for Life, November 30: Pull an all-nighter for a good cause
On November 30, the University of Lethbridge will host its 3rd annual student Relay For Life. All students are welcome to register for this uplifting, overnight event to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society and the fight against all cancers. Learn more here

World AIDS Day Event, December 1
The team at the Lethbridge HIV Connection invites you to join them as they commemorate World AIDS Day on Dec. 1.
In addition to a vigil at the HIV connection offices, Laurelle Brown, a U of L Applied Studies Management student is organizing a “Human Red Ribbon,” which will take place at the Galt Gardens Park on December 1.
Members of the community are invited to come down to the Park to help form the largest human red ribbon possible. Learn more here.
