CPC Family Child Care Network Hosts Provider Orientation for the New School Year

On July 10th, CPC Family Child Care Network hosted its Annual Provider Orientation at CPC One. Network providers from Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens came together to connect, collaborate, and align our shared goals for the upcoming school year. The orientation provided an opportunity for staff to answer questions, review network protocols, share important updates, and establish clear expectations for the year ahead. It also reinforced our collective commitment to delivering high-quality early childhood education and care for children and families across our communities.

CPC Welcomes Leaders from Taiwan Fund for Children and Families to CPC One

On July 9th, CPC Manhattan Community Services welcomed 21 senior leaders from the Taiwan Fund for Children and Families to CPC One for a knowledge-sharing exchange focused on child, family, and community services. CPC program leads gave presentations on our history, mission, and strategies that support high-quality early childhood education and family well-being. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to learn about CPC’s comprehensive and culturally responsive service models and included discussions, meaningful exchanges of ideas, and a tour of CPC One.

CPC, Brooklyn Cyclones, and Community Partners Team Up for AAPI Heritage Night Celebration

On July 9th, CPC partnered with the Brooklyn Cyclones and community partners including Homecrest Community Services, Parent-Child Relationship Association, and United Chinese Association of Brooklyn for the 2nd Annual AAPI Heritage Night at Maimonides Park. In addition to the matchup between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the evening featured cultural performances including lion dancing, drumming, and traditional dance performed by CPC Brooklyn Older Adult Center community members.

CPC FAIR Member Bin Feng Receives Advocacy Award from NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities

On July 8th, Bin Feng, a member of CPC's FAIR program, received the Willie Mae Goodman Family Advocacy Award from the NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) in Albany. The award recognizes his lifetime of advocacy for people with developmental disabilities. Bin has been an active member of the CPC Queens Special Needs Parent Support Group since 2019 and joined the FAIR advocacy leadership group in 2021. As part of the day's activities, CPC also hosted a resource table at the Empire State Plaza, sharing information about special needs resources and the FAIR initiative.

Wayne Ho Joins Nonprofit Report Podcast to Share CPC's Mission and Services

Wayne Ho, President and CEO of the Chinese-American Planning Council, joined the Nonprofit Report podcast, part of the Oppenheim Org's weekly webinar series featuring nonprofit leaders from across the country discussing urgent issues of our time. He spoke with host Mark Oppenheim about CPC's history, mission, and latest strategic plan. He detailed the community's evolving language needs and the hiring of more staff who speak different dialects. He also described CPC's recent food pantry initiatives after SNAP cuts affected thousands of clients and shared advocacy efforts that secured increased city and state food funding for vulnerable families.

CPC Statement on New York City FY27 Adopted Budget

On July 1st, CPC released a statement on the passage of New York City's $125.8 billion FY27 budget, which supports working-class New Yorkers with critical investments in housing, childcare, food access, immigrant legal services, and other essential programs. We commend the Mayor and City Council for their commitment to ensuring that AAPI, immigrant, and low-income New Yorkers can afford to live in this city and have the support they need to thrive. While there is more work ahead, this budget is a meaningful step toward a more equitable and inclusive city, and CPC looks forward to building on this progress with our elected leaders.
