We've had great suggestions so far, including celebrations and events leading up to the anniversary date in November, but we want to hear more! Sunday 24 February is your last chance to share your celebration ideas. How did it all start?Following the enactment of the City of Perth Restructuring Act 1993, Perth City boundaries were reduced and the then Town of Shepperton was officially renamed Town of Victoria Park on 2 November 1994. It was on this same day that the Victoria Park Library opened its doors for the first time. The work, being undertaken by a contractor on behalf of the West Coast Eagles, includes a new pedestrian footpath, vehicle cross overs, bus bays and landscaping. We’re asking pedestrians to please avoid the area and use alternate footpaths. We’re making the Raphael Park playground safer The Raphael Park playground will be temporarily closed from Monday 25 Febaury as we upgrade the retaining wall. The upgrade will provide better containment of soft fall sand to prevent sand spilling onto the footpaths. We expect these works will be completed and the playground open again by Tuesday 5 March.
