Edition 30,  2020

Hi Friend,

Welcome to the first winter edition of Brainwaves.

We are pleased to advise we have now been able to reopen our Launceston office - please phone before visiting so we can regulate physical distancing.

Having now worked from home for 3 months we have been evaluating our new phone support option of calling, workplaces, individuals, families, support providers and other organisations. From the many calls we have made, this has been identified as a positive new service and one we intend to continue post-pandemic. We will need extra resources to continue this, including more volunteers, and you can read more about this below.

Training is still being delivered via Zoom and in-person where physical distancing can be applied.

We were grateful to have received a generous EOFY donation to obtain equipment that we can provide to people who need it, at no cost.  Thank you very much to our donor for this - we already have a number of people and items in mind.

If you or your business would like to make an End Of Financial Year tax-deductible donation to us - we are offering a great prize incentive! Read more below.

As always, be in touch if there is anything further you would like from our team.

Warm regards and take care,

Wendy Groot,  CEO Epilepsy Tasmania.

Epilepsy Smart Schools

1 in 200 students has epilepsy and it can affect their school performance.

Epilepsy is one of the most misunderstood conditions in our community. The impact of epilepsy on a school student and their family is often far greater than the seizure itself.

Every school in Tasmania should be Epilepsy Smart.
