COVID-19 vaccines available to those eligible at the Clark County FairgroundsThe Washington State Department of Health, with assistance from the Washington National Guard and local and private sector partners, launched a mass vaccination site last week at the Ridgefield Fairgrounds. It is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday by appointment only to people who pre-registered and are eligible for the vaccine under Phase 1A or 1B-1. The hope is to provide 500 vaccinations per day. To get a vaccine, confirm you are eligible using Phase Finder. Once confirmed, make an appointment online or call 1-800-525-0127, then press #. BaCE, Americans with Disabilities Act Basics: Staff and Faculty Accommodations 2 – 3:30 p.m. Feb. 4 Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act by learning about reasonable accommodation processes for faculty and staff. “A Place to Call Home: Housing and the African American Experience post-WWII” 7 p.m. Feb. 4 Historian Melissa Williams will share the story of housing and Vancouver’s African American community from 1940 – 1960. Learn how Black families made Southwest Washington their home during wartime, what factors pushed many out of the area after the war, and about the lasting contributions these first Black residents made to Vancouver. 3 p.m. Feb. 5 World Hijab Day fosters religious tolerance and understanding by inviting non-Hijabi Muslim/non-Muslim women to experience the hijab for one day.
