Leading local solutions in Wimmera Southern Mallee |

Now in its second year, the Wimmera Southern Mallee Early Years Project, or ‘BY FIVE’, was one of the first Regional Partnership-driven projects to get off the ground. A partnership with the Department of Education and Training (DET) and Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), along with support from Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, the project is forging ahead, ultimately seeking place-based solutions to local needs.

Victoria’s Cross Border Commissioner: a Partnership priority in action |

“We’re doing about 1,000 km a week,” explains Luke Wilson, Victoria’s inaugural Cross Border Commissioner, who took up the role last October.
Over the past few months, the Commissioner – who is based in Wodonga, but is on the road two or three days a week – has been visiting the state’s border areas, meeting with councils, business groups, and speaking with the community, including on local talkback radio.

Student hubs on the cards in the Great South Coast |

Studying a university or other tertiary course remotely online in South West Victoria might soon become a lot less isolated and more manageable, thanks to a local student proposal.
At the 2018 Great South Coast Regional Assembly in Hamilton, local year 12 students told the Great South Coast Regional Partnership about the difficulties of studying a tertiary course online from home.

Revitalising Seymour – a Partnership priority gets the green light |
|
|
Following discussions at the Goulburn Regional Partnership’s 2017 Regional Assembly in Seymour, the Goulburn Regional Partnership put revitalising the town high on its priority agenda.
And in October 2018, the Victorian Government agreed, committing almost $1 million to the new Seymour Revitalisation Initiative (SRI), which will see a whole of Government approach to unlocking the town’s potential and ensuring it is best placed for the future.
