Reminders:

• Please send a heavy coat every day.  Even if it’s too cold to stay outside and play, we will try to go on a short walk to get some fresh air. 
• If your child wears a jacket or sweater in class, it needs to be navy blue

• Essential Question: What are some different ways to travel?
• Spelling & Phonics: long e sound (words with ee, and ea); spelling will be “ee” words
• Words to Know: about, by, car, could, don’t, maybe, sure, there
• Comprehension Skills & Strategies: Compare & Contrast
• Vocabulary Strategies: Defining words
• Unit: Map skills; Basketball Belles STEM activity
• Math: Chapter 12: Adding 2 digit numbers; Please continue practicing addition/subtraction facts to 12

• January 21: MLK Day - No school (unless we have used a snow day)
• February 7: Little Dribblers @ 9:15 am in the SEC gym(this is a special basketball routine that 1st graders will perform)
