Research Update

Linked below is the Import-Export Report for November 2020. 

The key findings are:

  • The Import/Export report for November 2020 shows total imports up 24.3% for the month, but down 1.7% YTD. Non-alcoholic beer imports were up 241.9% for November 2020 and up 51.9% YTD.
  • Total imports for Mexico were up 33.4% for the month, and are now up 0.1% YTD. Total imports for the Netherlands were up 12.8% for the month, and are up 9.3% YTD.
  • Comparing packaging, imports from Mexico showed bottles up 39.3%, cans up 26.3% and draft up 1.3% for November 2020. The results from the Netherlands show cans up 95.3%, but bottles down 8.5% and draft down 56.7% when comparing November 2020 versus November 2019. The same comparison for Belgium shows bottles up 56.7%, cans up 56.1% and draft down 60.7% for the month.
  • Year-over-year comparisons show draft down by 42.5% for Mexico, 57.8% for the Netherlands, and 62.1% for Belgium, all attributable to COVID-19 closures.

  • Friday, February 5, 2021 (Reporting for December 2020)
