A day conference in Cardiff - Transgenderism: assessment and response

Why not head over to our website to listen to the main sessions from the Leaders Training Days by Stephen Clark and Andy Pitt?

Dear friend,

The days are getting longer and as we turn our thoughts towards preparing for Easter we thought we’d send an email out to let you know of some upcoming events.

We do pray and hope that these events and ministries will be helpful to you in your work for the Lord. We continue to place a strong emphasis on the word and spirit – we believe true Christianity is both Biblical and experiencial, and our conferences reflects this. We also make a great effort to be practical and helpful to the situation we find ourselves in Wales, with the speakers very often reflecting a true understanding of the culture and communities of Wales.

So why not come along?

You will be warmly welcomed, will enjoy fellowship with other local leaders, enjoy gospel unity and most importantly have your eyes drawn to Christ – our Lord and Saviour.

With warmest Christian greeting,

Phil Swann and Steffan Job

on behalf of the EMW leaders team

'All true Christian service flows out of a spiritual vision of the glory of Jesus Christ. The different conference messages, whether expository, pastoral, historical or missionary, will demonstrate and illustrate this reality. What the Bible says about the greatness of the Person and Work of Christ was celebrated in the hymns and writings of William Williams and in the missionary vision of Calvin. The prayer of the Conference organizers is that we shall be refreshed with "a new vision of Jesus" and stimulated and encouraged to serve Him throughout the world in our generation.'

This event is being sponsored by London Seminary (formerly London Theological Seminary), the Evangelical Movement of Wales and Affinity.

Paul Yeulett, pastor of Grove Chapel, London, attended the earlier conference on this theme in November 2016 (with an almost identical programme of speakers) and commented:

‘… the issue of transgender has snowballed significantly, and Christians everywhere need to sit up and take note of what is going on. It was one of the more sobering conferences I have attended, but at the same time extremely useful in terms of information and enabling pastors and churches to understand the present circumstances and think through the way forward… The level of expertise of the speakers, and the different perspectives on this subject which they were able to contribute, all combined to make it an excellent day.’
  • 25 March, Highfields, Cardiff
  • Speakers include

Sharon James, Trevor Stammers, Sam Webster, Alastair Roberts and Dave Gobbett

The Pastors’ Wives Conference is an opportunity to meet with other pastors’ wives for fellowship, teaching and mutual support.

Why a conference?

Being a pastor’s wife  means different things to different people. But it is clear that the wife of a Pastor or Christian worker faces unique challenges. This weekend gives an opportunity for pastor’s wives to relax, be ministered to and have an opportunity for fellowship with other women in similar situations. It is not a training event, but an opportunity to encourage and support women in this unique situation.

The conference will be characterised by friendliness, informality and plenty of opportunity for fellowship. Marcia McLean will be hosting the event this year.

  • 5-6 May,
  • Bryn-y-groes Conference Centre
  • Speakers - Tim and Wendy Gill

Women can come for the whole conference and stay overnight or can visit just for the Saturday.
