Child Baptism Class

If your child is interested in being baptized during our end of summer Baptismal Service, please help them fill out this questionnaire and return it to office@mvccfrederick.com. You should also plan on attending a parent and child baptism class on August 13th at 11:00am, in the adult classroom. The Baptismal Service this year will take place on Sunday, August 27th, 4:00pm, at Ridge and Mary Kelley's home, 8410 Peters Rd., Frederick, MD, 21704. For adults considering being baptized, you're invited to view a short informational video about baptism by clicking here. You can then download an adult questionnaire and also return it to office@mvccfrederick.com.

Saturday Fellowship & Food Trucks!

Just a reminder that Saturday evening worship has resumed, so come on out and join us as we praise God, listen to His word and sing along with our great worship team. Oh, and if you're hungry, stick around after the service and head out to the food trucks for some great tucker, chow, eats, grub, whatever you choose to call it. $5.00 per person, $20.00 per family donation. We hope to see you there, and please invite an unchurched friend.

A Word from Pastor Steve

Gen Z is the first post-Christian generation in America. Who are they, and what kind of world are they growing up in? More importantly, how do we as the Church respond? Please join us for weekend services and my sermon, "What's Next for the Next Generation?" I hope to make you laugh, I'll probably make you mad, but I promise to make you think! Saturday, 6:00pm and Sunday, 9:15 and 11:00am.

Adopt A Suitcase

MVCC is teaming up with Frederick-based Christian Mission "Advance Worldwide" to serve a need in Jordan through a program called "Adopt A Suitcase." Please bring any new or gently-used baby or toddler clothing with you to church and help fill the suitcase we'll have set up in the lobby. These items are desperately needed to clothe Syrian refugee children that have been displaced from their homeland. For more information, please email Debbi Minto at debbi.minto@mvccfrederick.com.

Food, Fun, & Fellowship

Save the date and please plan to join us for our church picnic on Sunday, August 27th, 5:30pm at the church. This is a great opportunity to invite an unchurched friend to experience MVCC. We've got the burgers, 'dogs, paper goods and drinks covered, but we're counting on you to bring some potluck goodies. Here's how it works. If your  last name begins with the letters A through R, wow us with your favorite side dish. If your last name begins with an S through Z, delight us with a dessert. *Note: If you have any allergies or dietary issues, please plan to bring your own food. You may also bring chairs and blankets. We could use some help with setup & cleanup, and cooking.  If you would like to serve this way, please email office@mvccfrederick.com.

SOS Baker Park "Manhunt"

Baker Park is the place to be on Sunday night from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Our college students will be disguised and milling about the park, trying to evade the sleuths from SOS. The High School students will be divided into teams and given a mugshot of the fugitives, and will have an hour to find them all. To join the hunt, students should meet at the 2nd Street tennis courts at 6:30. There’s live music and lots of fun. Bring a Frisbee!

School Supplies Needed

MVCC is teaming up with the Urbana Food Bank to collect backpacks and school supplies for needy children in our area;  here's how you can help serve the need. Just buy a backpack or school supplies or both and drop them off in the church lobby during weekend services August 5th & 6th and August 12th & 13th. For lists of specific supplies needed, click here to go to the Frederick Public Schools Directory. Questions? Please call Sandy Sherman at 301-253-4334 or email her; sandy1sherman@aol.com.

MOPS registration is now open for 2017-18. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) starts its new year this coming September, and will  meet through May, 2018. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month from 9:15-11:15am, here at Mountain View Community Church. We welcome all moms and their preschool children (ages 0-5) to join us; a preschool program is included. Please click here for the online registration form. For general questions about MOPS, please contact Lynn Jerore by email: l_jerore@comcast.net.

Vision Prayer Update

About 30-people came out during our recent vision prayer night to ask for The Lord's leading and guidance as we plan and prepare to reach Frederick for Christ. We ask that all continue to...

• Pray for the vision as we seek to multiply the gospel to reach the next generation and the next neighborhood.
• Ask God to provide us all with clarity and unity as we make decisions about a potential building expansion.
•Pray for God to bring us the next pastor of discipleship as we continue the search.
• Ask God for wisdom as we multiply disciples and leaders.
