Save the Date - Downtown Employee Appreciation Day

This summer may have brought record-breaking temperatures, but Downtown OKC, Inc. offers a way to beat the heat. On Sept. 1 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., downtown employees are invited to celebrate Downtown Employee Appreciation Day with free ice cream.

Attendees may choose either an ice cream sandwich or chocolate-dipped cone at any of these locations throughout the downtown area:

  • Bicentennial Park at the Civic Center
  • Leadership Square Plaza (Robinson and Couch)
  • Chase Tower (Broadway and Park)
  • Mobile carts in Automobile Alley and Bricktown

Downtown OKC, Inc. hosts its Employee Appreciation Day every year to say thank you to the employees who make downtown a great place to work.

Monthly H & 8th Night Market Kicks Off This Friday

First Person: Stories of Hope

Survivors and others affected by the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building have shared their stories during a weekly series, "First Person: Stories of Hope," this summer.

The last story will be presented on Aug. 26 at 1:30 p.m. in the Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum's Center for Education and Outreach. The presentations are free with paid admission to the museum, which is $10 for adults and $8 for seniors, military members or students.

2011-12 Thunder Schedule Released

Get ready to Thunder Up with the newly released 2011-2012 Thunder schedule.

The Thunder will open the regular season at the L.A. Lakers on Nov. 1 and will play its home opener Nov. 4 against the Indiana Pacers. The Thunder will appear in 27 nationally televised games.

Can You See Me Now: Photos Made on Phones

This unique exhibit resulted from an international call to entry for what is considered a whole new genre of photography in the digital age: photographs made using mobile phones.

The exhibit runs through Oct. 1 at [ARTSPACE] at UNTITLED located at 1 NE 3rd St. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to  5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Urban Neighbors Hosts Monthly Socials

Get involved in downtown OKC and come to the Urban Neighbors Monthly Social on Sept. 9 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. This month's social will be at the Downtown OKC, Inc. (DOKC) office on the 2nd floor of Leadership Square.

Urban Neighbors' goal is to make downtown OKC an even better place to live by hosting positive, interactive meetings, social events, and issue-oriented dialogue and activities. This month, come hear DOKC's President, Jane Jenkins, give an update on all of the exciting improvements being made to the downtown area.

It’s never been easier to stay fit and have fun.  Join our certified instructors for noontime pilates, after-work Zumba or salsa dancing. These 8-week classes start the week of Aug. 22, and the first Try-It-You'll-Like-It session is FREE

  • Pilates: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 to 12:45
  • Zumba: Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30
  • Salsa on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30
