Dear ,

Greetings from the Partnership and Capacity Strengthening (PCS) team and welcome to our periodic newsletter on CRS and partner achievements. This month we are highlighting two new resources:

  • Robust and Sustainable Resource Mobilization, a comprehensive training manual that assists partners to strengthen their organization over the long-term (available in English, Spanish and French)
  • How to Incorporate Partnership and Capacity Strengthening into Proposals and Project Design, a quick business development guide for CRS staff (available in English, Spanish and French).

ROBUST AND SUSTAINABLE RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

“[This training guide] provides partners with an overview of the wide range of resource mobilization strategies organizations employ to ensure adequate and sustainable resources.” —Shannon Senefeld, Vice President, Program Impact and Quality Assurance

“This training manual is an excellent example of a ‘one agency’ collaborative effort, …of how CRS’ internal expertise can be transformed into a capacity strengthening resource for our partners.” —Mark Melia, Executive Vice President, Charitable Giving

The Robust and Sustainable Resource Mobilization training manual supports CRS partners to develop a systematic view of organizational sustainability and fundraising that reaches beyond specific skills such as writing a good proposal. Users are encouraged to look inward to consider what makes organizations successful, and to develop and implement relevant skills and strategies that are both effective and appropriate to their organization. The training offers a solid resource mobilization foundation for organizations of any size or capacity level and is available in English, Spanish and French.

HOW TO INCORPORATE PARTNERSHIP AND CAPACITY STRENGTHENING INTO PROPOSALS AND PROJECT DESIGN

“This guide will not remain on the shelf, rather it will be put to use.”  —Suzanne Rexing, Vice President, Institutional Donor Engagement and Advancement

PCS is fundamental to CRS’ work, and Agency and increasingly a donor priority. Proposals frequently require PCS, whether as the main focus, a specific objective or result, or as a cross-cutting element. This quick guide brings together existing CRS resources and provides practical advice, examples, and guidance to help CRS staff to design projects and develop proposals with strong PCS components. This is an internal Agency document and currently available in English, Spanish and French.
