August 25th Meeting Reminder

The North Central Florida Tea Party has begun holding two meetings per month, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.   We have invited all of the candidates for local and state offices along with the candidates running for the newly drawn Congressional seat (District 2).   August 25th will be our last meeting before the primary.   This has given us the opportunity to evaluate the candidates in an effort to choose the best person for the job. 
The next meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25th at the Jackie Taylor Building, Our speakers that night will be:  State Representative Elizabeth Porter; Buddy Williams – Suwannee County Sheriff; Mike Carson – Suwannee County Commission District 3; Pat Roberts – Suwannee County School Board District 3; and Dianne Westcott – Suwannee County Superintendent of Schools.  Everyone is invited to attend this meeting.  Please invite your friends and family.  Go to www.northcentralfloridateaparty.org.

We meet at 128 SW Birley Road, Lake City.  This is approximately 3 miles west of the I-75 interchange, on the corner of U.S. 90 and Birley Road.

Amendment 4

Solar Devices or Renewable Energy Source Devices; Exemption from Certain Taxation and Assessment.

Proposing an amendment to the State Constitution to authorize the Legislature, by general law, to exempt from ad valorem taxation the assessed value of solar or renewable energy source devices subject to tangible personal property tax,and to authorize the legislature, by general law, to prohibit consideration of such devices in assessing the value of real property for ad valorem taxation purposes. This amendment takes effect January1,2018,and expires on December31,2037.
