Alternatives to Tech/Consulting/Finance

The companies and organizations that come to Brown to do on-campus recruitment - like tech, finance, and consulting - are just the tip of the iceberg. If you want to target companies and organizations that don’t come to Brown to recruit, you’re not alone. Brown students compete for internships and jobs with organizations around the world. About 70% of the Class of 2017 chose first post-graduate jobs with companies who didn’t come to Brown to recruit.

Graduate Students - Help Us Help You

Handshake is for Graduate Students, too! It is an important tool to get to know, whether you are searching for full-time positions or summer internships.

Why? Because this is where business, government, non-profit and industry employers post positions open to Brown students. Also, you can make an appointment to speak with a counselor; find out about employer events; and learn about workshops specifically geared towards grad students.

Just For First-Years

Want to know how to get started using CareerLAB's services? Come speak with any of our specially trained Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) during open hours, Sundays - Fridays 1:30-3:30 pm, on the first floor of the CareerLAB at 167 Angell Street. PCA open hours are the place to start to learn how to search for a job or internship; how to use Handshake and BrownConnect; how to improve a resume and/or cover letter; and how to apply for internship funding through the LINK program. It is not necessary to register to meet with a PCA during Open Hours.

Here are some photos from the First-Year Welcome carnival last week - thanks to all who came! Join the Project 2022 Facebook group to keep up on all activities just for First-Years.
