Today, May 16, Sharm would have turned 83. Every day I think about him.  His life, his love, his faith and his passion for encouraging others.  As I consider how Basketball Club International has remained true to our original mission and vision, I thank God for giving us the strength to maintain our absolute imperative.  We continue to focus on supporting the pro basketball player whose life is a testament to his faith in Jesus, as he influences others.  We do it differently now, with new ways to connect worldwide through social media and live online events like BCI Courtside Live.

In his book, Step Up Your Game: A Playbook for the Next Generation Hero, Sharm said:

"Each of us can have an effect on this world every day.  I've wanted my life to be a positive influence.  And you, whoever you are, can inspire others with your integrity and faith, and with the potential of your youth or the wisdom of your years.  Together, we are all connected by character and motivated by love."

Sharm wanted others to know that the message was simple.  His goal, every day, was to live it.  I know Sharm would love where BCI is today:  still influencing people who influence others and "keeping it real."
