Championship POA Annual Meeting Update
The Championship Property Owners Association's Annual Meeting was scheduled to take place recently; however, the meeting could not be held due to the absence of a quorum. Without the required number of members (30%) present or represented by proxy, no official business could be conducted.
In accordance with the Association's governing documents, when a meeting cannot be held due to lack of quorum, the current Board members are automatically reelected. As a result, all existing Directors will continue in their roles for the coming year.
Since the Annual Meeting could not be convened, an organizational meeting of the existing Board was held immediately afterward. The following Officers were elected to the positions indicated below:
Tom Murphy, President |
Paul Slepakoff
VP & Treasurer |
Mary Mottle
Secretary |
Sharon Daley

Sidewalk Maintenance Underway on General Drive to Eliminate Trip Hazards
As part of ongoing efforts to improve safety and maintain the integrity of our community's sidewalks, a vendor is currently in the process of replacing certain sidewalk panels and shaving others along General Drive. This proactive work aims to eliminate potential trip hazards for residents and visitors alike.
This same work was previously completed on Championship Drive, where tree roots had caused panels to lift and create hazards. On both roads, the primary cause has been roots growing beneath the pavement and gradually raising the concrete.
By taking swift action to repair and level these surfaces, the community ensures that these areas remain safe and accessible for all. We appreciate your patience as the work progresses and thank you for your understanding.
New Landscape Lighting Enhances Reclinata Circle's Nighttime Appeal
Additional landscape lighting has recently been installed at the Reclinata Circle, highlighting one of our community's most distinctive and eye-catching landscape features — the Reclinata palm. Native to Senegal, a country in the northeastern part of sub-Saharan Africa, the Reclinata is a striking and somewhat uncommon palm that adds visual interest both day and night.
These palms naturally grow in large clusters, with multiple stems arching outward from the center, often reaching heights of 25 to 35 feet. Their gracefully arching, feathery fronds can grow up to 15 feet long and add a tropical elegance to the landscape. When planted in open spaces, Reclinatas truly shine — and ours serves as an outstanding centerpiece to the community.
The new lighting accentuates the palm's sculptural shape and creates a warm, inviting ambiance in the evenings. This enhancement not only beautifies the area but also improves visibility and safety for residents and guests enjoying nighttime walks.
