Last week the Belfast Film Festival (along with other leading film bodies including Queen’s Film Theatre, Nerve Centre, Cinemagic, Foyle Film Festival and INTO Film Club) were asked to prepare for a 50% cut.

These excessive cuts will have a devastating impact and if confirmed at this extreme level, could mean that some of these organisations cease to exist.

We don’t intend to take this lying down, but we do need your help to fight back!

To do this we have united under a campaign #SaveNIFilm

The only way to change what is happening here is to respond to the NI Executive Draft Budget 2015-2016, which is out for public consultation until the deadline of 29 December 2014.

To show your support for the #SaveNIFilm campaign, simply complete and send the short online response form. We have even prepared a draft response, which you can edit, personalise or even copy and paste.

Whether you're a first time visitor at one of our special events or a Festival veteran this campaign belongs to you! Your leadership today will help us build this campaign right up until the 29th December, over the next few months and into the future.

WHO'S  INVOLVED?

"In order to save a
relatively small amount of money in the short term, are we ready to sacrifice the future growth,
maturity, creativity and
diversity of film in Northern Ireland?"
