“…macabre take on pop. Backlit and smoky, the group blasted the audience with as much white noise as lush melodies… NAKED are not for the faint-hearted but it’s definitely not a case of emperor’s new clothes.”
- The Guardian
“Vocalist Agnes Gryszkowska is a striking presence” - Resident Advisor
“Their sound is gauzy, textural, and easy to lose yourself in” - Dummy Mag
Introducing NAKED, whose brutal and distorted experimental pop vision is set to be unleashed on the world with their debut album, Zone, out September 30 on LuckyMe via Inertia Music. NAKED have released the titular track of the album, “Zone”, with an accompanying video that pairs incredibly with the Edinburgh duo’s dystopic future sound.

NAKED are Agnes Gryczkowska and Alexander Johnston, and their music reflects a disenchanted youth’s masochism of digital-overloading. The young band explore themes of human isolation and the contorted nature of sex and physicality. “Zone” is our sensory system heightened – a raw, overwhelming and beautiful experience.
The album is co-produced with Paul Corley – the engineer and composer renowned for his work with Oneohtrix Point Never, Anohni and Ben Frost – and follows their Youth Mode EP released in 2015. In the last year NAKED debuted their live show at SXSW, produced Mykki Blanco’s ‘Moshin In The Front’, and scored the film A Silent Man, directed by Charlotte Colbert and starring Sophie Kennedy Clark.
The video for “Zone”, the opening track off the album, is a collaboration between the band, LuckyMe Studio and Primitive London – renowned film and image makers for fashion brands Cottweiler and Nasir Mazhar.
