Crofton House School  

Crofton House School’s graduates have travelled to all corners of the globe in pursuit of their career dreams and personal goals, and many of their journeys have been either supported or made possible by the school’s wide-reaching network of alumnae. In this edition of 1898, we explore just a few of the ways that the school’s international connections have helped its graduates make influential connections in diverse locales.

Attending Crofton House School means belonging to an amazing lifelong community and having the chance to keep it flourishing well beyond the years one spends at the school. Lishe O’Kiely ‘75: Running in the Himalayas

 


Imagine running along a ridge bordered on one side by India and the other Nepal. According to Lishe O’Kiely ‘75, both the view and the altitude are “breathtaking.” She and a group of dedicated trail-running friends run what are known as “ultra-marathons” through some of the most extreme settings in the world.

Alumnae News

Alumnae Needed for Portfolio Reviews


For the past ten years, graduating girls have had the opportunity to have their electronic portfolios reviewed by alumnae and parents in the CHS community. These portfolios help the girls reflect on their learning and put it into context, and the reviews provide them with a valuable objective take on their work. In keeping with tradition, Student Services is again asking alumnae to give back to the community by joining in this important volunteering opportunity.

Extending the Network in NYC

Inspiring Women

Kristina Louey '87 and Stephanie Jung '08 are the organizers of what has become somewhat of a tradition for CHS alumnae residing in New York City. Each year they meet up for lunch, share stories, and talk about the places their lives have taken them. This year, they were also  kind enough to field a few question sent along by the 1898 staff.

The Alumnae Association executive’s 3rd annual Inspiring Women event was lively and entertaining, attended by over sixty alumnae, parents, and CHS community members. Host Vicki Gabereau’s wit and interviewing talents made the evening both moving and entertaining.
