Help for Oklahoma

Help for Oklahoma

Christ Church is reaching out to our brothers and sisters in Moore, Oklahoma to help them recover from this spring’s tornado damage. Here are some ways you can help.

Go to Moore, Oklahoma
Over the next three weekends, teams are being sent to Moore to assist residents with the cleanup effort. If you are interested in going or want more information, contact Susan Kerr.

Donation Drive
We will send the following items up to Moore with our teams. You can bring these items by the Fellowship Hall lobby: work gloves; Neosporin® or antibacterial cream; bottled water; and baby items, like diapers, formula, baby wipes.

Monetary Gift
Donate now on the Samaritan's Purse website, or make checks payable to Christ Church Plano, with Disaster Relief in the memo line.

Continue to Pray
Please lift up our brothers and sisters in Oklahoma during this stressful time.

Almighty Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth, we ask your help for the people of Oklahoma. Comfort those whose loved ones have died, bring swift rescue to those who may still be missing, and strengthen all who have been injured or affected by this devastating tornado. In all of this, empower your people with your Holy Spirit to be agents of healing and reconciliation as they bring Gospel love and courage to their neighbors. All these things we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

More Big News for Adult Discipleship

Aaron Williams

Wonderful things continue to happen at Christ Church, and big changes are underway for our Adult Discipleship ministry. We said goodbye to the Rev. Jonathan Hunnicutt and family, who are following a call from the Lord to relocate to Oak Cliff. Please, keep them in your prayers on their new endeavors.

We are pleased to announce that Aaron Williams will join our staff as a Curate for Adult Discipleship. He will take over working with Young Adults, and will be in process for ordination. Learn more about Aaron and his role on staff »

This weekend at the Sanctuary services, we will introduce Aaron Williams and Markene Meyer to the congregation. Markene also joins the Adult Discipleship team this summer to spearhead our opportunities for women.

Ed Morris

We are sad to announce that Ed Morris died May 21, 2013 at age 58. Ed and his wife, Tammie, and their two daughters, Sarah and Bella, joined Christ Church in March 2013. A memorial service was held Saturday, May 25 in the Christ Church Chapel.

Lord, comfort us in our sorrows at the death of our brother; let our faith be our consolation, and eternal life our hope.
