Obstetric fistula is an injury women may get during an obstructed or prolonged labour. Each year about 100,000 women are affected and many get surgery to fix it. But as Kathomi Gatwiri explains, women in rural Kenya don’t get treated due to a lack of medical resources and are stigmatised in their communities.
