FACULTY AND COMMUNICATIONS Faculty and Coms Meeting FRIDAY

FACULTY & COMMS:

Meeting, Friday 10th June -
If we haven’t heard from you and you are attending, please let us know: which day you are coming down, if you need a college parking space and your menu choice for the Thursday meal (if applicable).

FACULTY:

Arts Award -
Three training days have been put in place ready for your delivery to start from September 2011. Please book your place by Friday 10 June to avoid missing out on this fully subsidised Skills Academy partnered delivery.

Don’t miss the Olympics -
An Olympics project will be launched next week ready for January 2012, but in order to gain tickets and performer and technician opportunities for your students, you will need to register for the Get-Set programme.

PRINCIPALS & FACULTY:

Arts Mark working group -
Ready for the launch on 1 September we would like to recruit a small number of Faculty leads (including those that were part of the test phase) to form a working group. Please let me know if you or a colleague can join this on-line forum.

COMMS:

Marketing and promotion budget -
The Founder College promotional budget will be closing on Friday 17 June, with all Invoices to be received by Friday 1 July. This will enable all materials to be in place for the start of your September cohort. Let me know if you have any questions on this.

Festival Stage Side Days Marketing resources -
On feedback we are going to upload marketing and promotional materials onto the the Faculty part of the website. Any problems accessing them or for other suitable images to go with pre-event stories, please click here to gain e-mail copies. It is important that every college promotes the opportunity, as it is exclusive to your membership and unique within the summer music circuit.

Project updates: exclusive to Founder Colleges

What is currently up for grabs?

Next year's projects will come under the title of 'Collaboration' with the focus being roles and disaplines working together, and with the Olympic year starting half way through the academic year we are looking to champion these collaborations. If this be the teams behind a concert at The Echo Arena Liverpool or the creative and logistical challenges behind the Olympic Torch Relay journey. For those of you not attending the Faculty Meeting, full details will be available on Monday 13 June from the Faculty part of the website.

What should you have in your diaries?

Festivals ‘stage side’ days kick off on 11 June.

Ideastap: We are currently working with Ideastap, in association with the creative faculty at Leeds City College, to communicate directly with students on projects, wider industry opportunities and bursaries. As a highlight of their work, please look at a ‘Sky Arts Ignition: futures Bursary’ open to all of your students.

ABTT (Associate of British Theatre Technicians) Theatre Show 15 & 16 June at Royal Horticultural Halls, London. Following the item in the last newsletter, Leicester College will be attending and we are in the process of setting up meetings and interactive opportunities with the key exhibitors.

PLASA 2011, 11 - 14 September at Earls Court. There is an opportunity to exhibit (full details have been e-mailed and are on your shared zone). Similar to ABTT we are looking to create bespoke insights for colleges attending. Please let me know if you are planning to attend?

Creative Choices is a website dedicated to helping you develop your career in the creative and cultural industries.

The 'new look' site features an interview with the Head of Props, Anthony Barnett, at the Royal Opera House. This is a good introduction to the world that will be revealed at Open Up on 27 September.

Watch this space. Get into live music will be launched in a couple of weeks as a sister site to the already successful Get into theatre website.
