Honoring Our Local Heroes: National Police Week

As May unfolds, it brings with it a somber yet profoundly important occasion: National Police Week from May 12 - 18, 2024. While our Palm Beach Gardens Police Department may not be directly involved in organized activities this year, it remains imperative that we, as a community, take the time to recognize and honor the brave men, and women who serve and protect us every day, including our police volunteers.

National Police Week, which culminates on May 15th with Peace Officers Memorial Day, is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by law enforcement Officers across the nation. It is a week dedicated to remembering those who have paid the ultimate price in the line of duty and to showing appreciation for the tireless efforts of those who continue to serve.

In our own community, we are fortunate to have dedicated Officers who work diligently to keep us safe. They are our neighbors, friends, and family members who put their lives on the line to ensure our well-being. While they may not always seek recognition, it is essential that we acknowledge their commitment and express our gratitude.

Moreover, let us not forget the families of our local Police Officers. They, too, make sacrifices and endure hardships so that their loved ones can protect and serve us, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Reach out to offer words of encouragement and support to these families, letting them know they are appreciated and valued members of our community.

As we observe National Police Week, let us recommit ourselves to supporting our local law enforcement Officers and recognizing the vital role they play in safeguarding our community. While their work often goes unnoticed, their dedication and bravery deserve our utmost respect and admiration.

THANK YOU to all our Palm Beach Gardens Police Officers for your unwavering commitment to serving and protecting us. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed, and during this National Police Week, we stand with you in solidarity and gratitude.

Police Monthly Incident Report

Every month, our Property Owners' Association (POA) receives a comprehensive report from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, outlining all incidents they responded to within Eagleton during the preceding month. This report encompasses a wide range of incidents such as traffic collisions, suspicious individuals or vehicles, burglaries, disturbances, thefts, suspicious activities, lost property, and more.

Fortunately, for the third consecutive month, Eagleton had no serious incidents reported. This is indeed a very welcome update for all of us. It shows that we are taking safety and security seriously. We are remembering to lock our cars and homes, to report suspicious incidents or people and to stay vigilant at all times. These small but important actions contribute to maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone in the community. Let's continue to prioritize safety and remain proactive in our efforts to ensure that Eagleton remains a peaceful and secure place to live.

However, there has been an increase in vehicle thefts in Palm Beach County, particularly within gated communities. It's worth noting that your mirrors could inadvertently signal car thieves, potentially contributing to this trend.

Reports indicate that organized groups of thieves are targeting vehicles with mirrors still extended, interpreting this as a sign that the car is unlocked and possibly with the key fob inside, facilitating a swift theft. It is imperative to remain vigilant. Whenever feasible, park your vehicle in your garage. When parking outdoors or when away from your vehicle, be sure to take your key fob with you. Leaving it inside the vehicle significantly increases the risk of car theft.

Moreover, promptly report any suspicious activities to the police for swift intervention and prevention..

Remember, if you see something, say something!

Memorial Day Ceremony

The City of Palm Beach Gardens has cordially invited us to commemorate the unwavering bravery and sacrifice of our service members who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield. Join us for a solemn wreath-laying ceremony this Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Veterans Plaza Amphitheater, located at 10500 N. Military Trail.

In a poignant display of respect, flags will be tenderly presented by the esteemed Palm Beach Gardens Police and Fire-Rescue Honor Guard. To accompany this solemn occasion, the stirring melodies of the Palm Beach Gardens High School Wind Ensemble will fill the air, paying tribute to the courage and dedication of our fallen heroes.

Come rain or shine, we shall gather in unity to honor their memory and express our gratitude for their selfless service to our nation.

This year's event is sponsored by Florida Power & Light and Flower Kingdom. Their support enables our City to honor our heroes in a fitting manner.
