Research Update

Good afternoon,

Linked below is the February 2018 Import-Export report.

Below find a few key points:

  • The volume of beer imported into the U.S. decreased by 1.4% during February 2018, compared to February 2017.
  • Accounting for transshipping, beer imports from all major source countries apart from Mexico, the largest source of U.S. beer imports, were down in February.
  • The U.S. dollar continued its recent trend towards depreciation vs. other major currencies during February, losing 8% of its value against the peso and 13% of its value against the euro, compared to February 2017. Dollar exchange rate fluctuations are closely correlated with changes in imported beer volume.
