Spring is in the air and MORE HEALTH's health and safety education opportunities abound!
In partnership with Florida Dental Health Foundation, MORE HEALTH will participate in our first Dentists' Day on the Hill! On Wednesday April 3rd MORE HEALTH's
tenured instructor, Tina Sink, and I will travel to Tallahassee to pursue our mission of providing health and safety education to children, teens and adults. Caregivers and young adults in our capitol's communities will receive MORE HEALTH's interactive oral health education lesson, as well as complimentary dental treatment provided by volunteer dentists!

With the arrival of inviting weather and folks heading outdoors, it is vital to practice safe bicycle and pedestrian habits. Did you know that bicycle and pedestrian accidents are the number one cause of fatalities in children? In fact, in 2010 a pedestrian was killed every 2 hours and injured every 8 minutes! MORE HEALTH wants to make a difference with the launch of our 24th health and safety lesson. Piloted in March and making its debut in May, the fifth grade "Rules of the Road" lesson will be rolled out to all Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco county schools. Kudos to our lesson development team!

According to www.distraction.gov, distracted driving is any activity that could divert a person's attention away from the primary task of driving. These activities include everyday occurrences like talking on a cell phone, texting, adjusting the music selection, grooming, reading or eating.
