Join the SGS in welcoming Experiential Learning Coordinator Stacey Leavitt

Please join the School of Graduate Studies in welcoming Ms. Stacey Leavitt to her new position as the Experiential Learning Coordinator effective November 16, 2015. As the Experiential Learning Coordinator, Stacey will provide cross-campus facilitation, implementation, and coordination of the experiential learning components of the various graduate programs and post-doctoral fellowships plus the PDF policy and invitation/registration process. November PUBlic Professor Series

November's PUBlic Professor Series will feature Dr. Craig Coburn, from the Department of Geography, as he discusses Understanding the Complexities of Imaging the Earth: The Challenge of Image CalibrationThis event will be held on Thursday, November 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall

Dr. Jennifer Copland, from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, will also be featured as she discusses Sitting and Stepping: The Health Implications of Our Daily Behaviour. This event will be held on Thursday, November 26, from 7 to 9 p.m. at City Hall

Spring 2016 Registration

All new and continuing graduate students are required to register online via the Bridge every term.

Registration for graduate students in the Spring 2016 term will re-open from December 14, 2015 to January 12, 2016.

Embargo of Thesis 

If you are nearing completion of your graduate program and will need to request a publication delay of your Thesis, you should review the embargo policy for information about requesting an embargo of your Thesis.

Graduate student kudos

Congratulations to Eric Paxman (MSc candidate), Anastasia Sereda (MA candidate), Vanja Spiric (MA candidate), Kayla Ueland (MA candidate), and Nicole van Rootselaar (MSc candidate) who have won Graduate Citizenship Awards!

These awards are administered through the office of Alberta Scholarship Programs and are for for contributions to the community – over and above scholastic excellence.

 
 

Introduction to Public Speaking tutorial

Tuesday, November 24 and Tuesday, December 1
Wednesday, November 25 and Wednesday, December 2

These two successive two-hour tutorial sessions introduce participants to the skills necessary to speak confidently in public. During these two practical sessions participants will receive personal coaching and peer-tutoring in conjunction with ample opportunities to practice their public speaking skills. Read more

Talking About Teaching seminars

A reminder that All Graduate Students are invited to attend Talking About Teaching seminars and that your attendance at this event contributes to your GATD Certificate of Participation. The next “Talking About Teaching" seminar will be November 20, 2:30 to 4:30, in L1050.
