Cave dig in Indonesia reveals ancient symbolic culture
|
A cave dig in Indonesia unearthed a unique collection of beads and pendants that date back almost 30,000 years. As Adam Brumm and Michelle Langley write, the findings challenge the long-held view that the Ice Age hunter-gatherer communities of Southeast Asia were less culturally advanced than people elsewhere, especially Palaeolithic Europeans.
