Reflection

The Year 12s Catholic, Marist school experience will be one that transforms and animates them to be people of the Gospel beyond their formal schooling.

‘Jesus gives all and he asks all: he gives a love that is total and asks for an undivided heart. Even today he gives himself to us as the living bread; can we give him crumbs in exchange?’

Pope Francis’ Homily at Canonisation of Paul VI, Oscar Romero & 5 Other Saints (St Peter’s Square, Sunday 14 October, 2018)

NATIONAL APOLOGY

Today marks the National Apology to Victims and Survivors of Institutional Child Sexual Abuse. We respect that this is a day for the victims and survivors, their families and friends. On behalf of Newman College, we express our full support for the National Apology and its aims of acknowledgement, recognition and reflection on the terrible legacy of sexual abuse of children in many institutions across this country. We encourage our community to take time on this day to commemorate the National Apology and reflect on the painful lessons of the past so that we can all work towards a safer future for all children in our institutions. JESSE & TRAVIS HEADING BACK TO WA

The Fremantle Dockers picked up two former Newman students during the trade period last week; Jesse Hogan (Class of 2012) and Travis Colyer (attended Newman College Primary School and left in 2003 to attend Trinity College). Both played for Marist Football Club and Claremont Football Club. Great to have them back in WA!
