This week's newsletter marks our first #monobrand edition - where we depart from the traditional compilation format, and dedicate an entire post to a single supplier.
JAMES PERSE
As the son of legendary LA retailer Tommy Perse (who founded Maxfield, discovered Rick Owens, built Chrome Hearts, and so on), some may argue James Perse had an all-too-convenient head start in life.
Trust fund / network effects aside though, JP has built a tidy business of his own (worth $200 million) - selling the California Dream to folks like me.
With more than 55 retail locations around the world, James Perse is hardly "underground". Though if you are in the market for knitwear, jersey, or anything in the realm of "relaxed, casual, laid back" - then forget the rest, empty the bank account, and reset the wardrobe.
