A Reason to Celebrate

It has become very clear that opening Wild Root Market is as important to all of you as it is to us!  When we initiated our ownership drive at the beginning of August, we let you know we were looking to fund the next phase of our development and you responded with enthusiasm and excitement. And money. In the span of less than one full month, 230 (!) of you chose to show your support by becoming Founding Owners! Our deepest thanks.  Now the work can really begin!

The internal process for tracking and recording ownership information - and managing money - includes all the professional and appropriate checks and balances you would expect and is being conducted by our board secretary and board treasurer on a volunteer basis alongside their other board, personal and professional responsibilities. We thank you for your patience and confidence!  In the near future, Owners will receive a welcome letter, their owner card and, those who paid their full equity share up front, their Stock Certificate.

Now that Wild Root Market's incorporation has been recognized by the state and our ownership drive to date has been overwhelmingly successful, we are contracting with G2G Research Group to conduct the market study which will, among other things, identify the optimal location for our co-op.  This, like everything, is a process but we expect to receive the resulting report before the snow flies.

As we've said before, ownership drives are an ongoing process.  Please talk about your decision to buy a share of Wild Root Market with those around you and encourage them to make the same consideration.  We challenged you the last time to recruit at least 10 of your friends, family and neighbors to join.  Please help us keep the momentum going!

When you think about it, we have a great deal of which to be proud: we're coming together as a community to build our own fresh food co-op one equity share at a time and under challenging economic circumstances. Our heartfelt thanks to those of you who bought your share of the co-op during the month of August.  You have earned the distinctive and enduring title of Founding Owner and our entire community is grateful for your bold action and visible support.

Publicizing Founding Owners

We know that each and every one of you want this co-op effort to succeed, as it will be great for Southeastern Wisconsin on so many levels. To that end, we would like to publish the names of all Founding Owners in order to inspire others to also buy a share of the co-op.

Wishing to be sensitive to the public use of your name, however, if you do not wish to be publicly named as a Founding Owner and would rather be listed as "Anonymous", please reply to this email by Friday, September 30.
