Events at Hester Creek

The Okanagan valley has produced some unbelievably talented musicians and we want to bring new upcoming artists to our guests. Every Saturday all summer long, we will have complimentary live-local entertainment on the patio from 1-4pm. Our two main concerts for the summer are the classic rock-band Trama and country artist Lisa Brokop. Trama joins us July 6th for a 3rd successful year, while Lisa and guest will arrive for August 23rd. Tickets to both concerts are $50 for the patio and $35 for the grass.

We added two specialized tastings to the guest experience this year. The 1st is a food and wine experience; taste 3 wines with a few bites of Tuscan inspired fare prepared by Terrafina Executive Chef Jeremy Luypen, while having a wine shop associate take you through the pairing and discuss the history, terroir and winemaking of Hester Creek. This will be offered 5 times a day from July until Oct 8th at the cost of $10 per person. The 2nd experience will be a sit-down tutored wine tasting; relax in our private dining-room as we take you through a guided tasting, learn our Hester Creek philosophy and taste wines from our library that have made us a destination.

We also continue to offer fabulous cooking classes. Join local chefs as they take you through a multi-course feast paired with award-winning Hester Creek wines. 2011 Whites

All of our fresh 2011 whites have now been released; Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Character White and our signature, Trebbiano round out the portfolio. Pinot Blanc is fruity with green apple and peach while Pinot Gris is lightly floral with pear and limestone; both have great citrus notes and are dry crisp offerings. Our Character White Estate blend of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Trebbiano is in its 2nd vintage and has fabulous tropical and orchard fruit flavours. Being an Estate blend, this wine really conveys the true "Character" of our land and our people.

The latest release is the Trebbiano, a precious part of our heritage. This year the slightly off-dry Trebbiano displays generous fruit flavours with minerality, apples and passion fruit. All four wines are available in the wine shop or online. Stop in soon to enjoy your favourite summer sipper on our patio.

To continue with successful wines, our first competition results of the season are in. The All Canadian Wine Awards commenced the week of May 18th and we received a Gold medal for our 2010 Selected Barrels Cabernet Merlot and a Gold medal for our 2010 Late Harvest Pinot Blanc. Congratulations to winemaker Rob Summers, assistant winemaker Marie Hebrard and the whole team.
