iStart Australia

Hi there,

No one could have foreseen the disruption 2020 has brought. The good news is that Australian businesses have surprised themselves with their ability to adapt. And, according to a Telsyte/DXC survey released this week, the tech investments of the past few years prepared them well to both manage disruption and enable a faster recovery.

That shouldn’t come as any real surprise: Tech has long been an opportunity for improved productivity and cost efficiencies. But sometimes, caught up in the day to day issues of business, it can be hard to introduce change. Throw in a pandemic and suddenly things such as work from anywhere aren’t a nice to have but a necessity.

In other news this week:

  • The missing millions from data ineptitude
  • Why the health sciences are failing on tech funding
  • Cookies and the privacy monsters that follow your every click
  • NZ politics: digital inclusion versus tech skills development
  • Hand coding data manipulation – fast, efficient and fraught
