What are the changes?
I will no longer be creating dashboards and offering the Planner boxes or dashboard club. The Dashboard club will cease to exist. The Planner boxes will merge with the pre-existing Stationery box so in the future it will literally just be ‘The Brimbles Box’. Instead of a dashboard every box will have a 12x12 scrapbook paper / card in it. This will most likely be my own artwork but it could also be designs from a well known scrapbook company. Some months there may be more than one sheet depending on the other contents of the box. If you are a dashboard lover you can use this sheet to make your own dashboards. The charms from the planner boxes will largely disappear but there may be the odd planner charm appearing in boxes from time to time.
When does this change take place?
The change will take place with effect from the November box. The October box will be the last box to have a dashboard in it. October box sign ups are in September until 30th September with the October box shipping on 3rd October. The November box sign ups are during October and the November box ships on 1st November. Incidentally the November box will be Christmas themed to give you lots of time to use all of your Christmassy goodies.
Anything I need to do?
There is absolutely nothing you need to do except sit back and wait for your box to arrive. If you are subscribed to a planner box you will stay subscribed. Whilst it will say on your auto renewal that you are subscribed to a planner box in reality it will be the new ‘Brimbles Box’ that you will receive. New or returning customers will only find the new ‘Brimbles Box’ on the website to subscribe to.
Why is the box changing?
It has been on the cards for a while and something that has taken a lot of deliberating over. The Brimbles Box is approaching it’s 2nd birthday and the box itself has evolved over time as the types of people who subscribe and what they are into change. The main factors in this decision are…
· People like to switch between A5 & Personal a lot so it means having to keep switching boxes, this can be frustrating when the changes takes place the following month.
· More and more people are moving away from ring planners to Travelers Notebooks, Spiral bound planners and the arc type system so do not need the 6 ring dashboard.
· Many people like to make their own dashboards and with scrapbook paper you can embellish them further and make even more of a DIY project out of it.
· Some people just don’t want dashboards.
I know that to some this decision will disappoint and I am genuinely sorry for that, as I said this was not an easy decision to make. What I do know from the Poll on Facebook and from talking to many subscribers, this change will please more people than it will disappoint so I have to go with that.
I am not a scrapbooker, what the heck do I do with 12x12 scrapbook paper?
If you are a bit confused by this and need some ideas how about these for starters…
· Make planner dashboards both A5 and Personal
· Make Planner dividers
· Make Planner page markers
· Make Project Life Cards
· Make journal cards
· Use in mixed media projects
· Use in your journals as backgrounds
· Make travelers notebook inserts
· Use whole as a 12x12 sheet for scrapbook layouts
· Use to make greetings cards
· If plain on the back, use to write snail mail
· Make envelopes out of them to snail mail with
