Online Meetings - freedom to meet anyone, anywhere

Create online meetings with Lync/Skype for Business to meet with people in Video Conference rooms, on computers, on desk phones and on compatible mobile devices. All Massey staff are eligible for a Lync account and can start scheduling meetings right now. For more information, visit the ITS website.

Please note:

  • The latest version of Lync is called Skype for Business. Skype for Business will be rolled out when the University upgrades to Microsoft Office 2016 (no dates available yet).
  • Zoom online meetings will continue to coexist as a separate service supported by ITS until further notice.

VC rooms can now join Lync/Skype for Business online meetings

Video Conference (VC) rooms can now join Lync/Skype for Business meetings. We ask for the decision-makers of VC rooms (rooms not managed by ITS) to consider registering their video conferencing endpoints with the Lync/Skype for Business solution, so that staff can easily join Lync/Skype for Business meetings from those rooms. Registering your VC room will not impact current room-to-room video conferencing or Zoom online meetings. Read more >

Important notice for SMS users on Mac

As there is no SMS client available for Apple devices, SMS must be accessed via a remote connection. Two platforms have been available for this purpose: Citrix for SMS and more recently its replacement, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDS). All Mac users will need to use the RDS platform going forward, as the Citrix for SMS environment is going to be decommissioned on 16 June 2016. This change does not affect Windows users.

Nuisance calls - don't be afraid to hang up

Nuisance calls are difficult to prevent because the callers use a variety of methods to avoid detection. If you receive a call from someone whose identity you don’t trust, hang up the phone. Discuss any offensive or threatening calls with your Manager. For more information about unwanted, malicious or nuisance calls, visit the ITS website.
