This interactive resource uses the 'Drug Use Disorders Identification Test' (DUDIT) screening tool.

What makes this resource unique is that it provides personalised feedback in video format - a first internationally for a test of this nature.

Video feature: Under the radar: An overview of excessive drinking in mothers in the UK

Sally MarlowThis feature presents a video recording of a recent presentation given by Dr Sally Marlow from the National Addiction Centre Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience King’s College London to the School of Sociology at Queens University, Belfast.

The presentation is entitled ‘Under the Radar: An overview of Excessive Drinking in Mothers.’

In this presentation Dr Marlow looks at how excessive drinking is identified in mothers and what the tangible and intangible barriers are in making that identification

The prevalence of excessive drinking in mothers is also explored as are the factors that coexist alongside excessive drinking. Outcomes for children as a result of excessive drinking are also considered.

Des CorriganCommunity Awareness of Drugs held a training day in All Hallows College, Dublin in March.

Part of the training day featured a two-part presentation given by Dr Des Corrigan. The presentations were entitled: (1) Drugs: What you need to know in 2015; and (2) Old drugs: same problems.

These presentations will be of interest to anyone working in drug services.
