NCTRC Welcomes New Board Members
As a result of the recently conducted Board election, NCTRC is proud to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. Jamie R. Bennett, MS, MTRS, CTRS, Sara Kerby Teel, CTRS/L, CBIS, and Angela Wozencroft (Sarratt), PhD, CTRS will officially join the NCTRC Board in April 2019 and serve a three-year term from 2019–2022.
Jamie R. Bennett, MS, MTRS, CTRS resides in South Jordan, Utah. Jamie earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s focusing on Recreational Therapy, and is currently working toward her PhD in Rehabilitation
Science; all of which has been at the University of Utah. Jamie has over 5 years of experience in RT working with a variety of populations. She is currently the CEO of Rec Therapy Solutions which provides consulting services such as clinical supervision, program development, and evidence-based practice development and implementation.
Sara Kerby Teel, CTRS/L, CBIS resides in The Village, Oklahoma. Sara earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation Therapy from Oklahoma State University. She has 4 years of experience in TR and is currently a recreational therapist at Integris Jim Thorpe Rehabilitation. She provides recreational therapy interventions to a variety of populations in an inpatient physical rehabilitation setting. She works closely with persons affected by amputations, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain
injuries and strokes to increase their overall independence and well-being. Sara volunteers at the monthly community support groups held at the hospital, including the amputee and spinal cord injury groups and also leads educational and functional groups for patients, family members and community members.
Angela Wozencroft (Sarratt), PhD, CTRS resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Western Ontario, her Master of Science degree in Sport and Leisure Studies from the University of Tennessee, and her PhD in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University. In addition to her PhD, Angela also holds a Professional Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation from Georgian College and Professional Diploma in Gerontology from
the University of Waterloo. Angela has been an educator/researcher in Therapeutic Recreation for 10 years and is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee. Prior to completing her graduate work, she worked for two years as an activity coordinator and then program coordinator at an adult day program.
NCTRC has recently appointed a new consumer representative to the Board of Directors, Debbie M. Jurkoic. She will serve until April 2021.
