Dear Valued Patient,

We wanted to inform you of some recent changes at Therapeutic Associates Clackamas Physical Therapy. Former clinic director, Mark McCurdy, has chosen to step down as director at this facility. We want to thank Mark for his 25 years of service to Therapeutic Associates and the Clackamas community!

Effective immediately, I will be taking over the role of clinic director. My name is Emily Caldwell, and for the past 5 years, I have been working as a staff physical therapist at Therapeutic Associates Gresham Physical Therapy. I received my undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago in biology and art history. I went on to earn my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in 2010. In 2014 I became a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) and completed the residency program through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).

I really value my patients and the community we share. In addition to working with all general orthopedic conditions, I specialize in both Women's and Men's health conditions. I enjoy helping patients achieve their personal health goals, and look to continue my growth as a practitioner.

I look forward to continuing on the 20+ year legacy Therapeutic Associates Clackamas Physical Therapy has established in our community. I want to thank the patients and community for being such a strong support through the years, allowing us to be a part of your medical team.

Please feel free to contact me at the clinic (503-659-9155) or stop by so that we may meet in person.

Sincerely,
Emily Caldwell PT, DPT, OCS

Now Offering Men's & Women's Health

We are excited to announce that we now offer a men’s and women's pelvic floor rehabilitation program that provides highly effective treatment for a variety of pelvic floor issues. Our comprehensive program is individualized and involves observing how your body utilizes the pelvic floor muscles along with the core stabilizers of the trunk. The pelvic floor muscles may be weak or may have improper coordination leading to impaired bowel and bladder function. In most cases of pelvic pain, the pelvic floor muscles have a difficult time relaxing. This continual tension creates pressure on the soft tissue, vascular and neurological structures in and around the pelvic floor creating your pain.

During Treatment, Our Specialist Will Work To:

  • Relax the pelvic floor muscles, using a variety of techniques.
  • Evaluate and correct how the body is over or under-utilizing the pelvic floor and related muscle groups.
  • Return the core muscles to normal patterns of activation and relaxation.
  • Normalize bowel and bladder habits through education.

What to Expect:

  • An extensive review of your condition and related injuries to the legs, pelvis, hips and low back.
  • Gentle hands on techniques that have been shown to help relax the muscle in and around the pelvic floor.
  • Patient-specific exercises to strengthen
