Keep an eye out for your voting papers and help choose who represents Mt Herbert on the Banks Peninsula Community Board. Pesky possums targeted in new Banks Peninsula programmeA new biodiversity ranger will be patrolling Banks Peninsula in an effort to control power line-hopping possums. Summer pool party at Lyttelton poolChill out by the pool with our outdoor summer pool party at the Norman Kirk Memorial summer pool! On 12 January from 12pm to 5pm, enjoy water walkers, bumper boats, our hydroslide and a bombing competition. Longer opening hours for local pools this summer Diamond Harbour and Lyttelton pool will be open for longer this summer thanks to two Community Board grants. The Diamond Harbour Pool will remain open until the end of summer holidays while the Lyttelton Pool will open on weekends until the end of February. Live at the Point – Sunday SessionsA free family-friendly live music festival held in the lush surrounds of the Godley House gardens in Diamond Harbour. Featuring several bands every Sunday until 16 February. Minister approves change to Lyttelton parking rulesA proposal to remove the need for new developments in Lyttelton’s commercial zone to provide on-site car parking has been given the go ahead. Korowai symbol of Council's commitment to healthy harbour planCouncil is taking a turn at at looking after a ceremonial korowai placed around the Whaka-Ora Healthy Harbour Plan as a mark of our commitment to restoring the cultural and ecological health of Lyttelton Harbour.
