PH 2nd Grade eNews

We hope you enjoy your SPRING BREAK!  Please keep this newsletter for the week following Spring Break.

• Bible - We will spend the next two weeks studying the true meaning of Easter and why we celebrate.
• Memory Verse - Matthew 28:6, “He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.”
• Reading - We will be reviewing several important reading skills this week in preparation for Iowa testing next week.
• Spelling - We will review and practice 24 sight words : because, went, they, through, also, each, said, from, about, very, every, world, their, there, were, where, people, want, when, our, are, was, other, another
• Grammar - Review of skills already taught
• Math - We will review all the math skills we have learned - please continue to work at home on math facts to 18 addition and subtraction. Also review multiplication facts of 0,1,2, and 5.

Homework:

• Monday: Math facts or sumdog for 15-20 minutes

• March 20-24 - Spring Break - No School
• March 27 - Judges will listen to Easter poems
• March 31 - Morning with Mom followed by the Art Fair
• April 6 - Easter Speech Chapel, 8:30 in the Cross Church Sanctuary
• April 7 - Good Friday - No School
• April 10-14 - Standardized Testing - Please, if at all possible, do not make any appointments during the morning hours 8-12 this week.
• April 19 - Field Trip to War Eagle Caverns (more information will come soon - sorry, no parents on this trip)
• April 28 @3:30 - Last day for AR points towards a medal
• May 22 - Last full day of school with EC
• May 23 - Awards Assembly - Dismissal immediately after awards - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL - NO EXTENDED CARE
