Welcome to the February newsletter

Dear

With February being the month of Valentine's Day we celebrated by sharing stories of couples that met at Leeds Trinity. Our blog post 'Finding love at Leeds Trinity'  featuring the Conlon's and the Maguire's received a record number of hits and we also had many couples sharing their memories and photos on our Alumni Facebook page

Do you have aspirations to teach? If you so, don't forget we have a PGCE Open Event this coming Saturday (23 February). There is still time to book on if you haven't already. Perhaps you could be the next Tom Wingate, who has his own school in Mexico! You can read about his story below.

Featured alumni - Tom Wingate

Tom Wingate studied a PGCE in Secondary Education at Leeds Trinity in 1981. In 2016 Tom opened a family-run British international school in Mexico City called The Wingate School.

"What I learnt at Leeds Trinity was hugely influential in my career. I built on those foundations, sure, but the foundations have to be solid."

The Wingate School, founded in 2016, is located in Mexico City and is set to quadruple in size. Currently the school offers Kindergarten and Primary but the expansion will see a middle school built.

The school has been awarded the Foundation Certificate of the British Council's International Schools Award, and, more recently, was recognised by the online international education publication, 'The Knowledge Review,' as "among the ten best schools in Latin America".

You can read Tom's full alumni profile here.
