PH Kindergarten eNews

Reading, adding, writing, oh my! We are busy in kindergarten. Let’s make the most of next week learning all that we can before Thanksgiving and remembering all that God has blessed us with. We are so thankful!

Next Week

  • Unit Study: Native Americans and Thanksgiving
  • Show and Tell: Complete an "I am thankful for..." poster on the construction paper sent home in Friday folders.
  • Bible: Joshua
  • Bible Verse: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise! Be thankful unto Him and bless His name!” - Psalm 100:4
  • Reading: Letter Ww, continue readers
  • Sight Words: I, see, a, on, and, has, the, for, no, is, of, his, go, in, put, her, he, she, to, help, can, not, too, stop, are out, they
  • Math: Review of previously learned concepts, continue practicing adding 1, introduce the 70s number family, counting from 1-79, understanding “after” numbers

Important Dates

  • November 14 - Christmas in November Canned Good Kick-Off! Students may wear a Christmas top by bringing in a canned good to benefit Feed the 479. We will collect canned goods all week long. Final donations will be collected at the Turkey Trot.
  • November 18 - Turkey Trot at 2:15pm on the field by the church. Refer to Mrs. Kelly's email for further information.
  • November 21 - 25 - Thanksgiving Break
  • November 30 - Place December lunch orders by 6:00 p.m.
  • December 1 - All-School Christmas Chapel at main campus. Students will ride the bus to Springdale and back, resuming a normal school day upon return to PH.
  • December 9 - PJ Day. No onesies!
  • December 15 - International Christmas Chapel
  • December 16 - Christmas Party at 12:15pm, early dismissal at 1:00pm. No Extended Care.

Reminders

  • Students should wear their navy Chapel polo and khaki bottoms EVERY Thursday! Jeans are not allowed on Chapel days.
  • If your child cannot tie shoes, work with them on this skill. It would also be helpful to work on putting on and zipping up jackets independently.
  • Be sure your child has a water bottle and a snack every day. Snacks can be sent in for the whole week on Monday or sent daily.
  • Make sure a season-appropriate change of clothes is in your child's backpack.
