DUBS Alumni are invited to join us for dinner on Sunday 10 April. A group of DUBS masters students will be travelling to Zurich as part of a Study Tour and we thought a dinner with local alumni would be a great way to network and catch up on the latest news.

DUBS representatives will be in the Faculty of Business at the University of Jordan to meet prospective students and alumni and Dr Amir Michael will deliver a workshop entitled: Collaborating with businesses to reduce the education-profession gap. There will also be a networking lunch and alumni dinner.

A group of MBAs from our 2015-16 full-time cohort will be travelling to Germany as part of an International Study Tour in April. We would like to invite you to join them dinner at 8pm on Sunday 17th April. Beth Sutcliffe from Durham University's International Office is travelling to Boston and we thought this would be a great opportunity to meet up with Durham Alumni in the area. We have organised an informal drinks and networking event which will take place from 5:30pm at the Central Warf Company Bar Restaurant.This will be a great opportunity to catch up on the latest news from the school, see old friends and network with other alumni.

A large group of DUBS's Masters students will be travelling to Geneva as part of the International Study Tour. Part of their schedule includes meeting with local alumni and hearing about their post-Durham career choices. This event brings together alumni, students and staff in Geneva for informal networking.

DUBS representative Adam Rennison will be travelling to Mumbai and we thought this would be a great opportunity to meet up with DUBS Alumni in the area. We have organised an informal dinner and networking event which will take place from 7:30pm on Sunday 22 May in the Trattoria Restaurant at Vivanta by Taj President hotel in Mumbai. Reservations are under the name Adam Rennison, Durham University Business School.

This year's DUBS Class Reps have organised a Boat Party to celebrate the end of term and raise funds for a scholarship for a future Business School student. The evening includes a bbq, disco and there will be a cash bar onboard. It would be great to see local alumni there supporting the students.

200 students from 10 different universities across Europe came together at Durham University Business School on the weekend of the 19th and 20th March for the largest business games event in the UK.  They tackled challenges set by companies including Strategy&, part of PwC, WPP and Unilever.  Read the full report by DUBS undergraduate and President of Entrepreneurs Durham, Abhinav Dawar.

Durham University Business School has made significant progress in the Financial Times 2016 ranking of online MBA programmes.  Our programme is now ranked second in the UK and fourth in the world.  It positions the online MBA programme as number one in the world for value for money.

DUBS has launched its first official WeChat page for alumni in China.  This will be managed by alumnus Lei Wang with the alumni relations team.  The plan is also to set up groups for recent cohorts to help them to keep in touch with each other.  Join the conversation using the QR code.

Alex McNinch has taken a new role as undergraduate placement manager in the Business School.  Penny Hawley, who joined the School last year as maternity cover for Alex returns as interim alumni manager until September 2016.  Lindsay Young continues as alumni relations coordinator.  They are supported part-time by two alumni and current PhD students Johannes Schmalisch and Lei Wang.  

Like many Durham University Business School alumni, since she graduated in 2014 Anjalika Gupta has enjoyed a global career working in London, Dubai and India.  However, she has chosen to celebrate this in a unique way through a series of picture books for children, capturing the antics of her Jack Russell terrier, Patch.

On a wet and windy day in San Francisco, in the midst of San Francisco’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, alumni met at The Thirsty Bear Pub to kick-start the SF Bay Area International Chapter. The Thirsty Bear provided a good sampling of organic beer (brewed on site), while we discussed our past wonderful experiences at Durham, what had bought us to the university, and how we had benefited. From this meeting we are happy to announce our new Facebook group and look forward welcoming you, Jay Sethi (MBA, 2001)
