MASSP is dedicated to keeping our members informed as the situation with COVID-19 develops. Each weekday during the school shut down you can count on an email from us. We will compile and summarize the latest updates and provide the latest resources to help you navigate the challenges that may arise in the coming weeks. If you have resources or information you think should be included in an upcoming update or on the MASSP COVID-19 resource center, please send them to Alicia Pilmore for consideration. New FAQ from MASSP on EO 2020-35 In response to the many questions we have been getting from educators across the state, MASSP has compiled a frequently asked questions document. This resource incorporates questions and answers from a variety of sources including MASSP's virtual town hall with Governor Whitmer. It also includes MASSP guidance and suggestions on specific practices related to grading, credits, Continuity of Learning Plans, and other topics. From Me to You: Weekly Learning Opportunities To connect building leaders with their students and families, advance learning through educational leadership, and assist students in maintaining a healthy routine during the extended school closure, MASSP has created a weekly learning opportunity roadmap that principals may choose to distribute to their students and families through established local communication systems (e.g., email, school messenger, blog, social media etc). Each week you will receive this ready to distribute resource to encourage students and families to stay sharp, collaborate and have fun. To view past editions, click here. College Board Announces Expanded Fall 2020 SAT Opportunities In a press release today, the College Board shared how it will make the SAT available to students this fall both in-school and out-of-school in light of the ongoing COVID-19 public health situation. The plan includes an additional weekend administration, school-day testing in the fall (which Michigan already adopted and announced as part of EO 2020-35), and a digital SAT for home use in the unlikely event that schools experience further interruptions to in-person instruction.
