Over the past months, we have all faced isolation, uncertainty and overwhelming changes to our daily lives. For those who have lost work, there is also constant financial worry. 

In 2020, our annual fundraising campaign has to focus on our artists. By making a donation this month, you can pay forward a membership to one of our represented artists, or help us extend our new Peggy Glanville-Hicks Commissions program.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. Over the past couple of months, private giving and philanthropy have proved to be a true life force. From a single $20 ticket purchased to a virtual concert, to emergency funding packages worth millions, philanthropy has become a matter of life and death in an unprecedented way, standing between the survival and the financial ruin of hundreds of artists and organisations. 

The AMC represents over 650 living Australian composers and sound artists, most of them with incomes suddenly seriously diminished. Our business is similarly affected. Simultaneously, we've had a 42% increase in unique visitors on the AMC website and a 30% increase in web traffic compared to the same period in 2019 - over half a million page views at the end of April. We've also had a 30% increase in email traffic. These are positive signs to us: the AMC is needed, and relied upon.

This is how you can help the AMC directly support our artists: 

A $1,000 donation can help us extend a bursary for a creative project by an artist or a group as part of our Peggy Glanville-Hicks Commissions initiative. 

A $90 donation helps us to extend a full annual membership to an artist, enabling them to access digital resources and discounts, and to maintain a connection that is as important for the AMC as it is for the artist.

Donations can also be applied to our artist development programs, sector advocacy and digital education resources such as our Echo online learning platform. Donations are acknowledged on the AMC website unless you wish to remain anonymous. All donations over $2.00 are tax-deductible.
