REMINDER: REPORTS AND PAYMENTS FOR DECEMBER 2011 DUE JANUARY 30, 2012

All reports and payments for December 2011 are due on January 30, 2012. The program Rules and Steward Fees that came into effect on August 1, 2011 apply to these reports and all others that will be filed between then and July 31, 2012.  Please be sure to file your reports on time, and make payment as required.


Seeking Steward Feedback on Processor Incentive Consultation – Survey Closes Thursday, February 2, 2012

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, OES hosted an educational webcast for Stewards, Remitters and Sub-Remitters as part of the process for Processor Incentive (“PI”) Consultation. We are now seeking feedback via a survey form, which will remain open until 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, February 2.

If you were unable to attend the webcast, we urge you to review the slides and the PI Fact Sheet . If you are a Steward, Remitter or Sub-Remitter, we also encourage you to complete the survey form as soon as possible.

EPRA Team Expands

The newly formed national, non-profit, industry-funded Electronic Products Recycling Association (EPRA) is expanding.  EPRA is mandated to improve the efficiency of the e-waste reclamation and the recycling process in Canada.  Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPSC) and the Retail Council of Canada (RCC) established EPRA. The Board includes senior executives from Hewlett-Packard, Sony, Dell, Toshiba, Best Buy, London Drugs, Staples, RCC, Compugen, and CDW.

Recently Cliff Hacking was appointed to the position of President and CEO.  Cliff is a former Vice President of the Americas at Hewlett-Packard Corporation and formerly held Executive level positions at Canadian Tire and the Oshawa Group. Cliff's expanded team now includes Lynda Kitamura, Chief Financial Officer; Dennis Neufeld, Program Manager for Manitoba; Jay Illingworth, Harmonization Director.

How to Remit Payment to OES
OES provides information for Stewards, Remitters and Sub-Remitters to download their invoices from a confidential web-based system. No invoices are distributed by mail/email. To obtain an invoice, your company's primary contact or billing contact should follow the step for "Invoicing and Reports" on the Steward Reporting System.

Payment Options
Stewards/Remitters can make payments by cheque, online banking or through wire transfer at their bank. Please include HST in your submission of payment to OES.

  • Cheques: payable to “Ontario Electronic Stewardship”, and sent to 26 Wellington St. East, Suite 601 Toronto, Ontario, M5E 1S2.
  • Wire Transfer: for details, email: oesaccounting@ontarioelectronicstewardship.ca
  • Online Banking: contact your bank and request that Ontario Electronic Stewardship be added to your account. Online payments can be made through the following banking institutions: CIBC, BMO, Royal Bank, Bank of Nova Scotia, and TD Canada Trust
