Kindergarten eNews

We have enjoyed our farm unit these past 2 weeks.  Next week we will move on into Apples.  Fall is just around the corner!  Apples, pumpkins and fall changes will be our focus. 

Our field trip to the Corn Maze will be October 3rd, 9:00-12:00 at the McGarrah Farms in Pea Ridge. Students will bring sack lunch to picnic there. They have pumpkin school, hayride, play stations, corn maze, train, truck, picture area and pick a pumpkin. Parents are welcome to meet us there, cost is $4.00 for parents and siblings. We will pay for students and teachers.

• Show and Tell:  Bring two apples on Monday. (Any color).  We will do different activities with them next week.  Whichever apple you choose from the store, leave the stem and sticker on it if there is one. 
• Bible:  We have started the stories about Jacob in the Old Testament.
• Bible Verse:  Psalm 17:8  “Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wing.”
• Reading:  The consonants we will work on are  Bb and Nn.  The sight words we are working on this 9 weeks are I   like   the   and   see.  If you want to make cards of these at home, it might be helpful in your child remembering them.  Our comprehension skill is sequencing a story.
• Math:  We will continue with counting and learning to write our numbers to 10.  Next week we will also work on recognizing and naming geometric shapes.

• October 16th:  Parent/Teacher conferences from 7:45-5:30
• October 17th:  Flu Clinic for students
• October 24th:  Fall Carnival at Springdale Campus
